A MARE in foal to first season sire Slade Power was, as expected, the most popular lot at the July Mixed Sale in Goresbridge on Friday last. Offered from Windgates Farm, the unraced four-year-old Sahaayef, a daughter of Mawatheeq, was sold for €22,000 to Aidan O’Ryan.

Due to foal next January, Sahaayef is a half-sister to three stakes horses and her listed winning dam is a half-sister to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner and Derby runner-up Sakhee. Celestial Storm, Mastercraftsman and Beautiful Romance all appear close up in the family.
