GOFFS has unveiled the catalogues for the Orby Book 1 (October 1st – 2nd) and Book 2 (3rd & 4th) sales, with all lots eligible for the Goffs Two Million Series in 2025.

A total of 516 yearlings at Book 1, marks a slight reduction on last year’s offering which commanded an average price of €122,764. The 2023 top lot, a Frankel filly bought by M.V. Magnier for €1.85 million, has been named Minnie Hauk and holds an entry in next month’s Goffs Million.

The top-class pedigrees for which the Orby has become known fill the latest catalogue, with Dubawi, Frankel and Wootton Bassett among the leading sires represented.

The two-day sale also offers buyers their first chance to purchase the progeny of Lope Y Fernandez, Lucky Vega, Nando Parrado, Palace Pier, Space Blues, St Mark’s Basilica, Starman, Supremacy and Victor Ludorum.

Among the exciting lots are siblings of Albigna, Dubai Mile, Luxembourg, Phoenix Of Spain, Saffron Beach, Together Forever and Twilight Payment.

Last year’s edition of Orby Book 2 produced a top price of €160,000, with 75% of lots sold for an average price of €23,248. They included Queen Mary Stakes second Mighty Eriu, bought by Kevin Ross for just €18,000.

Catalogued lots drop from 512 to 480 this year, with numerous siblings of stakes horses among them. The list of sires features the likes of Australia, Blue Point, Calyx, Dark Angle, Mehmas, Night Of Thunder, Showcasing and Starspangledbanner.

Leading consignors supporting the sale include Airlie Stud, Ballylinch Stud, Baroda Stud, Camas Park Stud, Lodge Park Stud, Mountarmstrong Stud, Pier House Stud, Rathbarry Stud and Yeomanstown Stud, to name just a few.

Along with the Goffs Million race, as part of the Two Million Series all Orby Book 2 yearlings can also qualify for the Goffs One Million Bonus Race Series which will see €1,000,000 worth of €50,000 bonuses paid to the winners of 20 juvenile races in Ireland and the UK – double the number of 2024.
