BREEDERS are invited to attend one of two equine pasture management workshops being organised by the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association and Teagasc in June.
In collaboration with the Irish Equine Centre, the workshops will take place at the Irish National Stud in Kildare on Friday, June 13th and at Ballyvolane Stud in Bruff, Co Limerick on Friday, June 27th.
Specialists in soil, grassland, biodiversity, and water quality will discuss optimising pasture management for healthy horses.
The workshops will focus on efficient farming, pasture management, soil management, pasture hygiene, and biodiversity on equine farms.
Speakers include Alan Creighton (head of environment and nutrition at the Irish Equine Centre), Catherine Keena (Teagasc countryside management specialist), Mark Plunkett (Teagasc Signpost Programme and previously soils specialist), Pádraig Fitzgerald and Joseph Maher (water quality advisors with Teagasc).
The workshops are being facilitated by Teagasc equine specialists Seán Keane, and Wendy Conlon.
