GORESBRIDGE Horse Sales will stage the first of three 2025 point-to-point and horses in training sales on Wednesday, April 23rd.

The Co Kilkenny auctioneering firm made a successful return to the horses in-training market last year. Its April sale produced a clearance rate of 82% and a €74,000 sale-topper. Recent Goresbridge graduates to have won over jumps include three-time winner Birmingham Alabama, Small Town Kid, Cloonaira, Vroomoz Eile, Aspurofthemoment and Epic West. Ed Donohoe, Goresbridge managing director, said: “The need for a reliable platform for many breeders and producers is evident as many have previously been forced to travel to the UK resulting in significant costs. Goresbridge is committed to providing an effective alternative venue for selling and purchasing quality horses. The response to our sales already confirms there is a demand for such a marketplace.”

The sale has the support of the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing inward buyers’ programme which allows overseas buyers to claim a travel contribution thereby alleviating some of the financial burden.

Donohoe says that Goresbridge is working to “grow the market, attract new participants and build a sales environment that benefits all”.
