SINCE Goffs UK released an initial catalogue of 327 lots for their Spring HIT and P2P Sale, they have added another 40 supplementary entries for the two-day sale starting on May 21st.

Following feedback from buyers and vendors, the sale will be staged in a new format, where the Spring Store Sale takes place on May 19th, followed by a day dedicated to inspections, before the horses in training and point-to-pointers go under the hammer.

The sale’s poster boy is undoubtedly Constitution Hill, who was bought by Nicky Henderson for £120,000 from Warren Ewing’s Bernice Stables following his narrow defeat on debut. The consignor features in this year’s catalogue, along with leading handlers such as Matthew Flynn O’Connor, Denis Murphy, Jonathan Fogarty, Colin Bowe, Stuart Crawford, Donnchadh Doyle and Sean Doyle.

The first day focuses on bumper and point-to-point horses, including Toby Bulgin’s Poetisa, who shaped like a smart type when making a winning debut in a mares’ bumper at Cheltenham. Eddie Power’s Nova Nako, a smart debut winner at Dromahane, is another possible highlight, as is Jonathan Fogarty’s five-length debut winner Storm Queen from the same meeting. Others of note include Max’d Out, a six-length winner of a four-year-old maiden at Loughanmore.

The following day, Gordon Elliott will offer Grade 1-placed hurdler Minella Crooner, also a dual listed winner over fences.

Nicky Henderson’s Grade 2 winner Shanagh Bob is another lot who has lost their way, having been sent off second favourite for last year’s Sefton Novices’ Hurdle. The Million In Mind dispersal features Nicky Henderson’s progressive mare Timetoshine, who completed a hat-trick of hurdle wins by a combined 30 lengths this spring. Simon Munir and Isaac Souede’s 13-lot draft is also expected to be popular.
