BRITAIN's Charlotte Dujardin's spectacular run of success continued today (Thursday) with another notable victory aboard her highly-rated ride Mount St John Freestyle, bringing her total of wins to six at the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show so far.

The double Olympic dressage champion has high hopes for the nine-year-old mare, owned by Emma Blundell, with the World Equestrian Games in September unquestionably a realistic target.

They produced an outstanding debut display to win the Grand Prix Special today, sponsored by F & Co Equine/Theraplate.

Their score of 80.362% put them well clear of the field and underlined to a bumper Bolesworth crowd and dressage's wider audience what potential as a partnership they possess.

Britain's Gareth Hughes and Emile Faurie joined her in the top three, with Gareth and Classic Briolonca taking second spot on 75.383% and Emile finishing third aboard Dono Di Maggio on 73.021%.

The latest success made it six wins across the board for Charlotte at Bolesworth 2018, with successes in the Grand Prix Special, Grand Prix, Intermediate Freestyle to Music, Prix St-Georges and the six and seven-year-old classes.

Reflecting on Mount St John Freestyle's latest success, Charlotte said: "I am really, really happy. That was her first ever Grand Prix Special, and for a nine-year-old, I am just blown away by her. She gives so much, and nothing bothers her.

"I had such a fantastic ride. There are a few little things to iron out, but hopefully in a few months' time they will be good. I am so, so proud of her."

Riders in the day's opening class - the PSG Invitational, sponsored by Jones Homes - had to contend with gusting winds, but they coped admirably to provide a keenly-fought class that went to Jessica Roisin Dunn.

Jessica, riding Alicante's Valley, was drawn first to go, and a score of 71.096% gave them a comfortable victory from Francesca Bradley and Baldovino (67.982), with Sarah Higgins and Davidoff (67.193) taking third.

WEDNESDAY WINS

Dujardin and Mount St John Freestyle served further notice of their rich potential as a partnership by claiming victory in Wednesday's headllne dressage class at the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show.

The double Olympic dressage champion - individual gold medallist at London 2012 and Rio 2016 - has high hopes for the talented nine-year-old mare.

Having won their first three Grand Prix classes together, they duly made it four in front of a knowledgeable and appreciative audience to land Bolesworth's three-star Grand Prix, sponsored by F & Co Equine/Theraplate.

Their score of 79.652% thwarted the victory ambitions of her mentor and fellow dressage superstar Carl Hester, who delivered a polished, accurate performance with Hawtins Delicato to score 77.217%.

"She was just 0.4% off scoring 80% today!" a delighted Charlotte said.

"She is so close to a big score, it is just the little things that push the marks down. There is so much to come from her, and there is so much to give. She is such a tryer."

The pair are being talked about as a potential Great Britain team combination for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina, in three months' time, and their impressive progress, which continued in fine style at Bolesworth, did nothing to dilute that prospect.

Charlotte rose to iconic dressage status on the brillant Valegro, and after concentrating on developing her young horses last year following Valegro's retirement, she continues to build an enviable string of competitors.

A high-class Grand Prix competition was dominated by a strong British contingent, with GB team member Gareth Hughes completing the podium places on Classic Briolinca, scoring 74.435%, while Emile Faurie and Dono Di Maggio took fourth spot on 73.522%.

WINNING STREAK

In all, Dujardin won a remarkable four classes in just eight hours on Wednesday.

The celebrated double Olympic dressage champion thrilled her audience thronged around Bolesworth's International Arena by landing the feature Grand Prix class, two young horse competitions and the day's closing Intermediate Freestyle to Music event, sponsored by The Brooke.

It was a second triumph of the week for the eight-year-old mare Florentina, following an impressive victory in Tuesday's opening Prix St-Georges.

Gloucestershire-based Charlotte showed no sign of a long day's competition after being drawn last to go among 13 starters, enjoying a winning margin of almost 7%.

Britain's Michael Eilberg led the way with Daltrey up until Charlotte's test, scoring 73.475%, but Charlotte's class and the star quality of rising prospect Florentina provided an impressive mix.

They scored 80.375% to take the class in style, while third place went to Hong Kong's Jacqueline Wing Ying Siu on Jockey Club Fuerst on Tour, with Becky Moody and Eureko finishing fourth.
