VICTORY for Lossiemouth, bred in France by Elevage des Vallons and Ian Kellit, in the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle was just another step forward, after she won a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse and a Grade 2 at Leopardstown in December. She reversed placed with Gala Marceau, who inflicted the only defeat Lossiemouth suffered at the Dublin Racing Festival, and she was successful on her only start in France, also over hurdles.

A daughter of Great Pretender (King’s Theatre), she is out of a winning daughter of Gentlewave (Monsun). Lossiemouth is the second winner from Mariner’s Light. She is one of nine winners out of Lady Glitters (Homme De Loi), who failed to win but was placed nine times, twice at listed level. As a 15-year-old, Lady Glitters failed to sell for €7,000. Incredibly, she was carrying her best offspring, Lord Glitters (Whipper).
