Top lot 2021: Dale Robert’s Rademon Osprey, 9yo gelding by Osmium (dam by Blue Rajah) €14,600.

IN the wake of last month’s highly successful renewal, Cavan stages another one-day fixture next Wednesday. Horses and ponies with a little form and quiet warranties garnered the better prices in May, and certainly this smaller catalogue offers these in numbers. The pony selection, which fill a third of the entry is varied, but as vendors take advantage of the strong trade, it is also notable for the large quantity of registered Connemara ponies.

A small selection of four-year-olds includes several with attractive bloodlines, while the three-year-olds, which bring the day to a close, offer some well-bred fillies as well as geldings with potential.

Such is the diversity of sires represented, just three stallions have multiple progeny forward. Heading these with four on offer is the prolific OBOS Quality, while Beach Ball and Quantino have two.
