A MILESTONE was passed on Wednesday of this week when the TAMS III Animal Welfare Scheme officially opened to the equine sector for grant application funding.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD (FF) and Minister for State, Martin Heydon TD (FG) marked the event with a photocall visit to the Kildare yard of international show jumping rider and producer Nicola FitzGibbon.
The TAMS funding tap is now officially turned on for the equine sector to apply for 40% grant aid for stabling, exercise facilities, fencing, feed stores and lunge rings up to a ceiling of €90,000.
Taking time to ensure that all your details are correct before submitting an application and seeking appropriate advice, if needed, is generally recommended. Applications can be made at www.agfood.ie

Coverage notice
THE Irish Horse World has been forced to change its coverage of the national eventing scene as there are now so many classes taking place at each event. This season, our reporters are going to concentrate on the higher-graded classes, while giving themselves the leeway to comment on promising younger horses coming through the levels. Reports on underage and amateur classes will appear at regular intervals.
