12.30 Come Racing To Cork Rated Novice Hurdle 2m

All Those Years has clearly had his issues but remains a promising type. An impressive winner on his racecourse debut, he went on to run well in a trio of maiden hurdles subsequently. However, a long absence since his last start indicates that he may not have been the easiest to train. If fit and ready for this reappearance, he is one of few in this race that have scope for some improvement.

The Little Yank makes a quick reappearance having been outclassed in Grade 1 company last time. He is a solid handicapper who won’t lack experience and comes out best at these weights once taking his jockey’s claim into account.

SELECTION: ALL THOSE YEARS

1.03 CorkRacecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle 2m

Adamantly Chosen should be able to shed his maiden tag at the second time of asking. Winner of a Punchestown bumper in April, he reappeared over hurdles in November when just going down in a tight finish. The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old will be all the better for that experience and looks the one to beat.

Barranco could be a serious threat, having improved from his first outing to win a Hexham bumper on his second start. The Crawford yard are in great form at the present time and anything they send out commands the upmost respect. Lack of previous hurdling experience is the one worry but he is sure to have been well schooled.

1.38 Happy New Year From All At Cork Maiden Hurdle 3m

Mahler Allstar is an interesting contender on his first outing for Jimmy Mangan. A decent point-to-point/bumper horse, he managed just the sole outing over hurdles when third at Leopardstown just over a year ago. However, the bare form of that race stands up to the closest inspection and a reproduction would almost certainly be good enough.

Shantreusse ran well when second on his hurdling debut recently and the form of his two bumper runs were well advertised over the last month. He has yet to achieve as much on the racecourse as the Mangan-trained horse but has to be a very real threat given his race fitness.

SELECTION: MAHLER ALLSTAR

2.13 Racing Again March 24th Handicap Hurdle 2m4f

Bois De Clamart, who got no further than the first fence in the Paddy Power Chase at Christmas, may gain some compensation. He had been an easy winner in first-time blinkers at Gowran Park on his penultimate start, so was expected to play a big part in the Leopardstown feature. He is worth another chance now to show that the headgear has indeed rekindled his enthusiasm for racing. Swelltime was unable to exploit a favourable flat rating over the summer but has to be of interest on this return to hurdling. Making his first start for new connections, he is likely to race prominently over a trip which should see him in a better light.

SELECTION: BOIS DE CLAMART

Next best: Swelltime

2.48 AIB Merchant Services Pay By Link Beginners Chase 2m4f

Thedancingfarrier, a shock winner over hurdles here on his penultimate start, can win this ordinary contest. The form of that race has already been franked by the well-supported second, suggesting that it was a fair effort on the day. A defeat at Tramore last time needs forgiving but the 10-year-old will be more at home on this galloping track.

Ben Thomson could be very well treated by these race conditions if he takes to chasing at the first time of asking. A winner at Down Royal over Christmas, he had more in hand than the official result suggests. Eoin Walsh takes a valuable 5lbs off his back which adds to his appeal.

SELECTION: THEDANCINGFARRIER

3.23 GAIN Handicap Chase 2m4f

R’Evelyn Pleasure can take this prize for local trainer Sean O’Brien. The 10-year-old has run two solid races since making his reappearance last month. A second-place finish behind a well-handicapped rival in a handicap hurdle at this track was followed by an excellent fourth in a very competitive chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. He should be spot on with those two runs under his belt and will most likely have been targeted at this.

Sil Ver Klass, who has been in good form over hurdles recently, has to enter calculations. Although rated slightly higher over fences, he looks set to make the breakthrough very soon.

SELECTION: R’EVELYN PLEASURE

3.58 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race 2m

Henning is a speculative suggestion on her racecourse debut. A well-related mare whose two half-sisters both won their bumpers, she is sure to be ready for this first assignment.

Although lacking previous experience and taking on mares with winning point-to-point form, she may have enough class to get away with it over this minimum trip.

Scarlet Witch boasts the best form of those with previous bumper experience. Gordon Elliott’s mare has also won her point-to-point so knows how to battle and get her head in front. However, it would be slightly disappointing if there wasn’t one or two to better than the standard she has set to date.

SELECTION: HENNING
