1.40 Barronstown Stud Irish EBF (C&G) Maiden 7f

Auguste Rodin showed lots of promise on his debut here earlier this month when beaten just over two lengths into second by Crypto Force in a maiden over this course and distance. With a smoother passage he may well have won that day, and the overall manner of his effort suggested he is a colt of substantial ability. He can make his experience count against a field that contains its share of interesting rivals.

An obvious opponent is Glazunov who is a son of Frankel out of a useful Lonhro mare who won twice in this country and was twice placed at Group 3 level. Lygon Street is among two newcomers for Joseph O’Brien and looks interesting as he is a son of a German stakes winner from a quality German family.

SELECTION: AUGUSTE RODIN

Next best: Glazunov

2.10 Airlie Stud Stakes (Group 2) 6f

This would appear to be a good opportunity for Statuette to make her mark at pattern level. This daughter of the American Triple Crown winner Justify is a half-sister to Tenebrism and she looked a potentially top-notch filly on her debut at Navan last month when dishing out a three-length beating to Olivia Maralda who ran a respectable seventh in the Queen Mary next time.

The selection should improve plenty from that initial effort and a line of form involving the Navan second would suggest that she has the measure of Zarinsk who won a smart fillies’ maiden over this course and distance last month and also looks a fine prospect.

Comhra’s second to Meditate at Naas reads well with the latter having since won well at Ascot and she is not one to underestimate either.

SELECTION: STATUETTE

Next best: Zarinsk

2.40 Sherry Fitzgerald Country Homes Handicap 6f

Lord Dudley has made remarkable progress over the last 13 months and might be able to make it three wins on the bounce. He began his season with a win over six furlongs at Naas in March and then tackled a seven-furlong premier handicap at Cork where he did especially well to edge out Blairmayne by a neck. He is only 2lbs higher as a result of that last success, which gives him every chance of adding to his haul, while a high draw is another positive for his chances.

Blairmayne must have every chance once more at a track where he has run many fine races, while another likely contender is Arnhem. He was beaten a neck by Only Spoofing on his comeback at Navan last month, while his form for his previous trainer included an excellent second to Big Gossey in the Bold Lad Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend last September.

SELECTION: LORD DUDLEY

Next best: Arnhem

3.10 Paddy Power Rockingham Handicap 5f

This prize could be set for export through Tees Spirit who chases a four-timer. This four-year-old has been in the form of his life this season after notching up a series of front-running triumphs and the last of those came in the Dash at Epsom several weeks ago when he made all the running before lasting home by a head. He could take some catching from the front, although a higher draw might have worked better for him.

Ano Syra is a progressive filly and registered a commanding success in a three-year-old premier handicap over this course and distance earlier in the month. This will be much tougher off a 12lb-higher mark, but she appeals as being able to progress further. Erosandpsyche ran a very nice race on his comeback when third to Additional in a premier handicap here last month and is likely to be right at home now that he drops back to five furlongs.

SELECTION: TEES SPIRIT

Next best: Ano Syra

4.20 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Ragusa Handicap 1m 4f

Hms Seahorse could be very interesting on his first flat outing since being beaten by a nose in a Cork maiden over a year ago.

He was a five-race maiden on the flat for Aidan O’Brien but ran to a good standard against decent rivals on each of his starts, and he made up into a useful juvenile hurdler last season when his form included a fine fourth in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham. He certainly has the ability to make his mark in a race such as this.

Safecracker looks an obvious danger having filled the runner-up spot in premier handicaps won by Hell Bent and Mashhoor on his last two starts. He deserves to win a good handicap.

SELECTION: HMS SEAHORSE

Next best: Safecracker

4.50 Barberstown Castle Irish EBF Median Auction Maiden 1m

She lacks the advantage of a previous run this season but Bienvenue is still hard to look past. This filly began her career with a fine fourth in the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes won by King X J here last September and then went to Listowel where she ran a fine second to French Claim. The evidence of those two runs would suggest this 82-rated daughter of Fascinating Rock could take plenty of beating.

Paris Peacock is trying to break a run of placed efforts. She did nothing wrong at Gowran last time chasing home the subsequent listed fourth Term Of Endearment and should be closely involved once more.

SELECTION: BIENVENUE

Next best: Paris Peacock

5.25 ARIONEO Irish EBF Maiden 1m 2f

Cougar might get his turn. This useful 86-rated colt comes here off a decent second to Urban Oasis in last week’s Ulster Derby and his other form this season includes a second to Glory Daze in a maiden over this course and distance.

He might be too strong for the 83-rated Nusret who was third to Yashin in a three-year-old premier handicap at Navan last time having previously finished second in maidens at Cork and Sligo.

Nemean caught the eye on his debut at Gowran when second to World Famous and he is another likely contender.

SELECTION: COUGAR

Next best: Nusret
