4.05 Keeper’s Heart 10 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey Irish EBF Maiden 1m

There was definite promise to be taken from the debut effort of Ocean Conquest when fourth behind Henry Longfellow and Mythology here last month. Any natural improvement from that eyecatching effort should make him a big player in a maiden where the Coolmore partners probably do not appear to have the same level of opposition as was the case on his introduction.

Starliner showed a little greenness on his Down Royal debut when not beaten far in third behind the pretty useful My Mate Alfie. With Donnacha O’Brien having a fine season, particularly with his two-year-old team, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he stepped up again and is firmly in the mix. Ger Lyons-trained newcomer Tamrat is an interesting representative for Moyglare Stud.

4.40 Newtownanner Stud Irish EBF Stakes (Group 3) 1m

There is certainly an open feel to this Group 3 contest. The Dermot Weld-trained Shelaka won nicely on debut at Tipperary but seemingly wasn’t hugely fancied, according to the market on that occasion at least. She still commands respect.

The form of a seven-furlong fillies’ race here a fortnight ago could prove key, though, as runner-up Opera Singer bids to go one better for Aidan O’Brien, who also has a solid chance with Brilliant. Her experience edge over the once-raced Shelaka should be beneficial. Kalispera, who ran a cracker when third in last weekend’s Debutante Stakes, looks to be progressing and has every chance of reaching the frame again.

SELECTION: OPERA SINGER

5.10 Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes (Group 3) 6f

This Group 3 event is lacking a standout candidate to some degree. Mountain Bear is the highest rated of those with official marks and should appreciate coming back in trip after weakening late on over seven furlongs when third in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time.

However, he doesn’t boast an entirely bombproof profile and it’s possible that the Paddy Twomey-trained Letsbefrankaboutit could have more improvement to come. He was unlucky to be drawn on the wrong side when third behind a couple of smart types in a maiden here 13 days ago. His starting price, sent off 11/8 favourite on that occasion, and purchase price, bought for €240,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale, implies he is a fairly talented individual. Do It With Style. Buyin Buyin and Mansa Musa have all shown a decent level of ability too, while Bella Colombia did it well on her Dundalk bow and could progress.

5.40 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes (Group 3) 1m 1f

American Sonja has ventured to Longchamp and Saratoga for two of her last three starts this summer, so this will be much more of a home game for the Joseph O’Brien-trained three-year-old. Her solid profile gives her a fighting chance of adding more blacktype to her CV in this Group 3, with the track and trip likely in her favour.

Cigamia finished in front of her when they last met and filled the second and third spots in the Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse. The expected sound surface will play to Cigamia’s strengths and there should be little between the pair again here.

Drying ground probably wouldn’t be ideal for Indian Wish and Village Voice, while Mashia hails from the in-form Dermot Weld stable and commands respect despite possibly lacking a little experience in this company.

SELECTION: AMERICAN SONJA

6.10 Paddy Power Supporting Cancer Trials Ireland Irish Cambridgeshire 1m

Coeur D’or has a big chance of following up his Galway Festival heroics in this €80,000 feature but he will need to keep improving to remain in front of the handicapper off his new mark of 97 (up 5lb from last time). A host of lively contenders are snapping at his heels, including the Johnny Murtagh-trained Rahmi, whose form when beating Dunum, Adelaise, No More Porter and - further down the field - Howyoulikethat in the valuable Emerald Mile Handicap here in May looks strong now. He didn’t have an easy trip around Galway last time when stuck down the rail and probably not enjoying the demands of that contest. He should appreciate returning to the Curragh and odds of around 20/1 look more than fair each-way.

At an even bigger price, Monaasib is worth a mention from a place perspective. He showed up well when fifth in this race last year and is now 5lb lower, with cheekpieces tried for the first time today as another potential spark for improvement.

SELECTION: RAHMI

6.40 Bord Na Mona Recycling Apprentice Handicap 6f

A 5lb rise for his late-lunging win here a fortnight ago may not be enough to stop Secret Magician from continuing an excellent year at the Curragh for the Hassett family. Wayne Hassett knows him well and this track and trip clearly suits his attributes.

Not Even Close drops in trip with blinkers fitted for the first time and is less exposed than most of these. She should be on the premises, while Daamberdiplomat would go close if able to reproduce the pick of his form.

SELECTION: SECRET MAGICIAN

7.10 Plusvital Supplements Nursery Handicap 7f

Considering how he stayed on over six furlongs last time when bumping into a well-handicapped winner at this venue, Carnegie Hall is worth giving another chance to now stepping up to seven furlongs. The form of his penultimate second at Cork behind subsequent listed winner Asean suggests he could still have some room to progress off his rating of 84 (4lb higher than last time).

Asian Daze got the job done nicely over this trip at Gowran Park last time and looks a two-year-old on the up, albeit she likely needs another bit of improvement to win off an opening mark of 80. What A Squeeze looks one who should appreciate switching to nursery company for the first time and can’t be ruled out.

SELECTION: CARNEGIE HALL
