1.15 Barronstown Stud Irish EBF(C&G) Maiden 7f

Although Aidan O’Brien introduces three newcomers in this opening maiden, the fact Ryan Moore has sided with Rock Of Cashel suggests that that colt may well be the stable’s best hope. A well-bred son of Wootton Bassett, he certainly has the pedigree to be winning here before having his sights raised in the coming months. Having said that, both his stablemates should be monitored closely in the pre-race betting market.

Currawood has to be another worth taking note of given connections. Trainer Paddy Twomey is well able to have one ready at the first time of asking, so the son of Acclamation deserves maximum respect under Billy Lee.

SELECTION: ROCK OF CASHEL

Next best: Currawood

1.45 Sherry FitzGerald Country Homes Handicap 6f

A dual winner at this track in 2022, the Richard Brabazon-trained Gordon Bennett may be capable of adding a third Curragh success. Having been in the grip of the handicapper last season, the six-year-old showed a bit more when fourth at Naas on his reappearance in early May. Nothing went right over course and distance last time when the gelding finished on the bridle having repeatedly been denied a clear run.

Apricot Ice dropped back to this trip to win her maiden over course and distance last time. With both the second and third placed horses going on to win their next starts, the form of that race looks strong. A mark of 87 may well underestimate the Ger Lyons-trained filly.

SELECTION: GORDON BENNETT

Next best: Apricot Ice

2.20 Airlie Stud Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) 6f

Truly Enchanting can make a quick return to winning ways having been outpaced in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. Having taken time to get going on soft ground at Tipperary on her initial outing, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly probably found everything happening too quickly last time. Connections have wasted little time stepping her up in trip and that move can be rewarded.

California Dreamer improved on her debut effort when beaten a length in a Naas Group 3 on her second start. The Adrian Murray-trained filly ran another solid race in similar company when fifth at Royal Ascot last time.

SELECTION: TRULY ENCHANTING

Next best: California Dreamer

2.55 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai International Stakes (Group 3) 1m 2f

Recent impressive course and distance winner Jan Brueghel could overcome his inexperience to maintain his unbeaten record. An impressive eight length victor on his introduction last month, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt holds a number of big race entries over a variety of trips. Despite facing some quality opposition in this second start, the make up of the race should play to his strengths.

British raider Bolster rates a serious contender but there has to be a slight question mark given the fact he may well be taken on for the lead here. A confirmed front runner, much depends on how the Karl Burke-trained colt reacts to being pressured early on.

SELECTION: JAN BRUEGHEL

Next best: Bolster

4.05 Kildare Village Ladies Derby Handicap 1m 2f

The Ger O’Leary-trained Scholarship holds leading claims under a previous winner of this race, Georgie Benson. A dual winner when trained in Britain, the gelding has shaped with promise on all three starts for current connections. Stepping up to 10 furlongs for the first time on his latest outing, the four-year-old kept on nicely behind a subsequent Ascot winner.

Scottish Champion Hurdle runner-up Bialystok has to be respected on his first outing on the flat since joining Willie Mullins. A three-time winner on the level in his native France, the six-year-old could be nicely handicapped.

SELECTION: SCHOLARSHIP

Next best: Bialystok

4.40 Molton Brown Irish EBF Median Auction Maiden 1m

The Joseph O’Brien-trained Galen should be able to get off the mark at the third time of asking. Runner-up to this year’s Derby winner on his juvenile debut last season, the colt proved slightly disappointing when finding one too good on his reappearance last month. Stepping up to a mile here, it would be a surprise if he cannot open his account.

Lucky Out improved from her initial effort to finish third last time. Given that she hadn’t set foot on a racecourse prior to last month, there could easily be more to come from the Thomas Mullins-trained daughter of Unfortunately.

SELECTION: GALEN

Next best: Lucky Out

5.15 La Celia Wines Irish EBF (C&G) Maiden 7f

In an unusually small field for a maiden at this track, the Aidan O’Brien-trained John Steinbeck can make a winning debut. Although he doesn’t hold any big entries in the immediate future, the Dubawi colt must have been showing enough at home to warrant keeping him in training as a three-year-old. He can reward connections’ patience in this finale.

Dundalk runner-up Arnaman is interesting on his first start for Ken Condon. Sent off 100/1 on debut, he belied those odds when finishing ahead of a subsequent maiden winner who is now rated 88. A reproduction of that form would probably be good enough to get involved in this ordinary affair.

SELECTION: JOHN STEINBECK

Next best: Arnaman
