2.00 Irish EBF Median Sires

Series Maiden 6f

Perfect Judgement nearly made a perfect start at Naas and he can go one better now. Ado McGuinness’s colt found only the odds-on Aidan O’Brien-trained Edwardian too good first time out, staying on well over the five furlongs. He should progress from this and, although he faces more rivals now, this could be a weaker affair.

Megarry has three runs to his name, and having faded up the hill over seven furlongs at Galway for his latest, he may be better suited to this conventional track. Prior to that Galway effort, he found only Profit Refused too good at Roscommon.

SELECTION: PERFECT JUDGMENT

2.30 Plusvital Speed Gene

Nursery Handicap 6f

Jakajaro can return to winning ways back over the course and distance he was so impressive over on his penultimate start. He came nearly five lengths clear of his rivals here on Irish Oaks day, and nearly made it back-to-back wins at Galway despite looking ill at ease on that track racing over a furlong further. He is up 3lb but looks to be going in the right direction.

Carnegie Hall is an obvious danger having gone very close to winning on his nursery debut at Cork, going down by just a head to Asean. He is up 4lb for that but has lots of scope to improve on only his fourth start.

SELECTION: JAKAJARO

Next best: Carnegie Hall

3.00 Bord Na Mona Recycling Handicap 6f

Heavenly Power caught the eye with his effort to finish fifth in the Scurry Handicap here on his previous run. Racing alongside the winner Strike Red, he had to be switched a couple of times to get a run through and, while only finishing fifth in the end, he came clear of the field remainder. He filled the same position when running in behind Coumshingaun on his penultimate start and looks to be steadily improving.

Volatile Analyst is just the type Ado McGuinness does well with and he looks dangerous, as an ex-British sprinter who held a rating in the 100s, now competing off 92 in Ireland. Ostraka is also interesting, returning to the scene of her impressive debut win.

SELECTION: HEAVENLY POWER

3.30 Qatar Racing & Equestrian Irish EBF Stakes (Listed) 5f

Fillies have won the last four renewals of this contest and may do so again through Ger Lyons’s Storm Miami. The daughter of Blue Point looked green on her second start when she went down by just a nose to Tiger Belle in a listed contest at Naas. That came on soft ground, so she should handle those conditions should they arise, and it’s likely she can improve further now on her third start.

Ashwiyaa is still a maiden but she has some solid form in the book, including a third to Matrika here in the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes. She should run well again, while plenty will be keen to keep faith with Ballydoyle’s early hype juvenile Alabama, who has yet to deliver, but has ran well on each of his four starts.

SELECTION: STORM MIAMI

Next best: Ashwiyaa

4.05 Fitzdares Royal Whip Stakes (Group 3) 1m 2f

Goldana has held a solid standard this season and she may be able to add a second win. A winner here on heavy ground in a seven-furlong Group 3, she has run to a higher level in defeat on her next three starts, notably finishing a creditable sixth in the Group 1 Pretty Polly. She found a couple of three-year-olds too strong but she may not face the same quality of rival tomorrow.

If there is a three-year-old to beat her, it’s probably Unless, who returns quickly after her listed win over this course and distance last Sunday. She has held her form really well and may be able to step forward again over this distance. Layfayette is likely to get his favoured conditions so has to be respected despite a couple of below par efforts recently.

SELECTION: GOLDANA

Next best: Unless

4.35 Comer Group Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (Group 3) 1m 6f

Shamida is taken to continue her progression and make it three wins in a row. Dermot Weld’s filly stayed on really strongly to see off Divine Jewel in the Group 3 Stanerra on her previous run, a fine effort on just her fourth start. She showed she can handle soft ground when third to Warm Heart in a maiden at the same course. She should improve again.

For a long way in the straight in the Irish Oaks, Library looked like she might have stolen the classic, before giving way to Savethelastdance and Bluestocking late in the day. It was still a very good effort and you’d expect Seamie Heffernan to make use of her stamina again. Soft ground may be a concern for Point King and Okita Soushi, but not for Dawn Rising, whose stamina will come into this more and more with every raindrop.

SELECTION: SHAMIDA

Next best: Library

5.05 O’Shaughnessy Distilling Company Handicap 6f

Nordic Passage has run himself back into form and could be tough to beat. Johnny Levins’s gelding caught the eye when fourth to Shoebox King at Navan on his penultimate start and he was unlucky to be denied by just a nose when second to Executive Decision at Chepstow. His mark of 70 still leaves plenty of leeway considering he was once rated 96, and many of his best performances have come over this course and distance.

Universally is noted. Eoghan O’Neill’s gelding showed his first glimpse of ability when fourth at Naas recently, with first-time blinkers possibly helping him. He remains lightly raced and will be a threat if able to build upon that run.

SELECTION: NORDIC PASSAGE

Next best: Universally

5.35 Sheehy Motors CUPRA

Apprentice Handicap 1m

Everylittlestep completed a treble at Gowran on Wednesday and is out again quickly under a 7lb penalty, but officially 3lb well in. He could well make it four in a row but this is very competitive and two who catch the eye are Sondheim and Rock Etoile. Sondheim, Craig O’Neill’s gelding, has run really well on his last two starts in big field handicaps. He was just half a length away from winning at Cork and if he can run as well again here, he will be thereabouts.

Rock Etoile only began his season earlier this month but his two runs have been really good - a fifth to Dragon Of Malta at Galway and a close fourth to The Fog Horn at Gowran on Wednesday. He should go well again.

SELECTION: SONDHEIM

Next best: Rock Etoile
