Q: William Hill doesn’t have a High Street presence in Ireland, so why are you sponsoring seven races across this two-day meeting?

NP: William Hill is investing in their online business in Ireland, and one of the ways we can grow is through sponsoring key events in the Irish sporting calendar. To sponsor at such high-profile race meetings, including the Curragh, is a great way to build brand awareness to a wider audience.

Q: What other Irish racemeetings do you support, and are you looking for other opportunities?

NP: We will be sponsoring a number of races on Friday nights at Dundalk between now and the end of the year and we are excited about the benefits this can bring to our brand. 2023 will be the third year we sponsor the William Hill Champion Chase, the major race on the opening day at the Punchestown Festival – the feedback we have received has always been extremely positive. We are also actively looking at opportunities to expand our sponsorship suite in Ireland, so watch this space.

Q: As a betting product, how does Irish racing compare with racing from other jurisdictions or other sports with William Hill clients?

NP: We are very proud of our Irish horse racing product, and it performs well not only with our customers in Ireland but also in the UK and internationally. The quality of racing in Ireland is exceptional so we are thrilled to be able to offer our customers this in the range of products available to them.

Q: Why do you think punters bet with William Hill ahead of rival firms?

NP: We offer a fantastic range of markets, partnered with a strong promotional focus, which keeps customers returning to William Hill. The feedback we’ve received from customers is that our racing product is top class.

Q: Have you any special plans or offers in mind for the Autumn Racing Festival?

NP: Our traders will always be looking to extend the range of offers we have at the Curragh, so expect to see a lot of exclusives on the William Hill Autumn Festival.
