KING George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes victor Goliath returns to action in tomorrow’s Group 2 Prix du Conseil de Paris at ParisLongchamp, and could provide an important update for the headliner of the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale.

Millennium Stud is set to send his dam Gouache to the sale. She was purchased by Agrolexica International Trading for €200,000 at last year’s Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.

The Rotterdam-based company have made a number of significant purchases across a variety of sales over the past year, but representative Ananias Antoniadis has remained tight-lipped on details, except to reveal their €850,000 purchase of a Blue Point filly at the Goffs Orby Sale would be sent to Joseph O’Brien.

Three lots earlier, Norelands consign the beautifully-bred Earth, a Galileo daughter of Alpha Centauri, in foal to New Bay. The same day, Baroda Stud will present an own-sister to Cloth Of Stars, while Ringfort Stud offer a No Nay Never sister to Molecomb Stakes victor Big Mojo, in foal to Showcasing.

The Castlebridge Consignment’s draft includes the multiple stakes-placed Frankel mare Scarlett O’Hara, from the Flame Of Tara family, as well as an own-sister to Group 1 winner Tribalist, in foal to Calyx.

The Godolphin consignment is always popular and this year features a Frankel half-sister to Ribchester, boasting a Wootton Bassett cover.

Springfort Park Farm offer another potential highlight in the Shamardal mare Her Honour, already the dam of three stakes horses led by Vadream, catalogued in foal to Night Of Thunder.

While the above mares are expected to cost a pretty penny, there is plenty of value to be found, as advertised by eight Group 1 winners in 2024.

Their dams were sourced at the November Breeding Stock Sale, for €150,000 or less. Perhaps the best bargain was Tally-Ho Stud’s €15,000 purchase of Fidaaha from Derrinstown Stud. All three of her runners to date are group winners, including Group 1 winning juvenile Scorthy Champ and the twice Group 1-placed Malavath.

Despite the success and appealing catalogue, 2024 will struggle to match last year’s figures, when the sale featured the Niarchos Family dispersal.
