Larry Murphy's Mr Blue is a three-year-old Collie cross. He’s the best known dog on Facebook, he helps with the advertising of horses - by running after them, keeping them moving, occasionally rides them, loves wearing his cowboy hat and his western saddle. Sara Terry’s miniature Schnauzer, 10-year-old Poppy is an actual horse whisperer. As you can see in the photo she prides herself on being a top Shetland-handler as well! Poppy is always on hand when I’m moving the ponies to keep an eye on proceedings and to let me know if one of them is misbehaving, or doesn’t want to come in for the farrier, with a whisper in their ear and a gentle bark. She also tells me if one of the ponies breaks out of the paddock in search of sweeter grass in another
Milly is a five-year-old mix breed who lives at Kiltinan Castle Stud. Her favourite season is foaling season and loves foaling especially helping the mares lick their foals clean. Milly runs to the back door when my phone rings after dark ready to head to the foaling unit for duty. Izzy is a pick‘n’mix breed. A German Shepherd Collie cross she is a bundle of happiness and love. She was dumped at the gates of animal haven rescue in Kerry. Her owner Davina was luckily chosen to adopt Izzy. She fits in with the yard and the horses super well and has everyone wrapped around her paws. She is forever testing out the horses drinkers to make sure they are clean enough to drink from. She is always keeping an eye on the horses, making sure the grass is tall enough to keep the h
