HOME-based Maeve Deverell recorded the sole double at the Midland and Western Region league show held last Sunday at Annaharvey Farm where she dominated the Elementary division on two home-bred geldings.

In the DI46, Deverell was awarded a score of 68.46% for her performance with the eye-catching Irish Sport Horse dun Annaharvey Dunowen, an eight-year-old by the Dutch Warmblood stallion Radolin, and 65.77 for her test with Annaharvey Delheim.

The latter, a nine-year-old grey by the Connemara stallion Dunlewey Seamus, also had to settle for second (66.90) behind Annaharvey Dunowen (69.66) in the DI50.

James O’Haire just failed to complete a double at Novice level. In the DI23, the Category 2 competitor scored a winning 64.19 on HFS Eclipse, a 2012 Womanizer mare who enjoyed a very successful Eventing Ireland campaign this year with two wins at EI115 level and numerous top-six placings.

In the DI26, the Hawthorn Farm combination had to settle for third (64.66) behind Category 1 rider Pamela Byrne and her ISH gelding Coolestown Mister T (65.17), a 19-year-old bay son of Mohill Cavalier Clover, and Jurgita Zelvyte with the 12-year-old Finbars Touch gelding Ferry Hill Boy (64.83).

Darragh Whyte topped the scoring in the Preliminary DI4 with the 15-year-old bay gelding Two Tone Tommy (65.60) while in the DI15 it was Matilda Falkhede who claimed the honours on her new ride, Shanbeg Dararra (68.93).
