MAKING the perfect start to his eventing career at Frankfort Stud and pleasing all connections, the five-year-old Stonehavens Dreaming headed the EI90 on his winning dressage score of 26.3.
One of the leading four-year-olds of last year, and indeed the winner of both Millstreet Eventing Discovery classes, he has continued in the same style this season.
He was runner-up in the five-year-old equivalent this spring and is, according to owner/rider Ciara Power, “the one we’ve been waiting a long time for”.
Sourced as a three-year-old from Waterford breeder David Bogossian, Stonehavens Dreaming is by the Balou de Rouet-sired Querlybet Hero out of Ballinamona Jody by Jack of Diamonds.
“We are aiming to keep him long-term and, as we have syndicated him between friends, the pressure to sell is off,” added Power.
Terence White, who was unlucky to miss out in the earlier class, filled second with his own five-year-old Tranquilo Van’t Valissenhof, from Arabella Whelehan aboard her own 15-year-old Blackhill Border Fox.
All 11 enjoyed a confidence-giving experience in the country and completed without incident.
