GARRISTOWN’s Jill Revill recorded the only double clear inside the time to win the 22-runner EI110 at Lightsource BP Tyrella (2) on Saturday with her Irish Sport Horse gelding Lislan Aganix who she had dropped down to EI100 level at Tyrella (1).

As Revill completed on her Lucinda Webb Graham-awarded dressage score of 28.5, Godfrey Gibbons picked up 5.2 show jumping penalties and 0.8 for time across the country with Milchem Miami which were to prove expensive as he finished second on 31.3. However, the young Ballinasloe rider bounced back to win two classes at the Western Region’s Sealac eventing starter series final at Milchem Equestrian on Sunday.

This was a first EI win for Revill’s Lislan Aganix who has 75 Showjumping Ireland points to his credit. A seven-year-old by Aganix du Seigneur, he is out of the Harlequin du Carel mare Lislan Serene and was bred in Co Clare by Michael Kelly from whom Revill has bought many horses over the years.

“With Covid and everything, we took it handy with this fellow,” said the owner/rider. “He did a bit of jumping at four, more at five and then last year he mixed jumping with eventing. You have to mind these good horses so I planned on skipping next weekend to compete at Tyrella (3). He is the only horse I have to event this season. I have his four-year-old full-brother broken and riding but, as he’s a big, raw horse, he won’t event until next year.”
