1.25 Ryan’s Cleaning Maiden Hurdle 2m

Rath Gaul Boy can get back on track in this maiden hurdle. Willie Mullins’ seven-year-old disappointed when last seen at Leopardstown earlier this month but he was found to be a sick horse and should strip a different proposition now. It was notable he was sent off odds-on for that contest, suggesting there is relatively strong belief in him at home. Previously he finished second to Enfranchise in a Galway maiden hurdle, his first start in this sphere after a decent bumper campaign last term.

Cobra Queen could also fare well. Henry de Bromhead’s mare struggled to keep tabs with Jade De Grugy on her previous start but there was no shame in that and she kept on well to finish fourth in a race few of her rivals got into. She may be better suited coming down to today’s trip of two miles.

SELECTION: RATH GAUL BOY

Next best: Cobra Queen

2.00 Cawley Furniture Novice Handicap Hurdle 2m4f

Secrecies Of Stone could be worth chancing. Paul Nolan’s six-year-old has notable form having finishing just eight lengths off Lecky Watson in a two-mile-seven-furlong maiden hurdle at Thurles that has worked out particularly well this season. He has only ran once since, finding only Gordon Elliott’s Binge Worthy too good in a two-mile contest at Limerick over Christmas and back up in trip, racing off a mark of 111, he is interesting here.

With that said, this is very competitive with the likes of Explosive Boy, Banprionsa and Pax all potentially very well treated for different reasons. The last mentioned will be especially interesting if attracting market support, but J.P. McManus also has Buchaillbocht, who Mark Walsh rides, and who comes here chasing a fourth win in five. He only won by a half length last time out at Punchestown, but idled on the run in and likely had plenty more in the tank.

SELECTION: SECRECIES OF STONE

Next best: Buchaillbocht

3.10 Paddy Kehoe Suspended Ceilings Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m4f

No Flies On Him probably comes in here with the best form, having chased home Tullyhill in a listed contest at Punchestown but he looked short enough at the 5/2 mark at the time of writing, with prices of 5/1 about Dee Capo far more appealing. Gordon Elliott’s five-year-old has won three of his last four but it is the race he didn’t win that makes him most appealing - given he gave away so much ground when jumping to his right and generally acting up at Navan, yet still nearly chased down his useful stablemate What’s Up Darling. He looked much more straightforward at Leopardstown when he accounted for the 147-rated Ashdale Bob over an extended two miles two furlongs and it’s likely this target, a two-and-a-half-mile Grade 2 turning right handed, would have been planned for him for a while.

Rushmount would have had plenty of handicap options over the weekend so it’s interesting he comes here for Jonathan Sweeney. He split Lecky Watson and Shannon Royale in a Thurles maiden hurdle earlier in the season, form which has worked out well since. Mossy Fen Park is another to note for Henry de Bromhead. He was workmanlike to win at Down Royal when last seen but chased home the useful Predators Gold at Punchestown prior to that.

SELECTION: DEE CAPO

Next best: Rushmount

3.45 Donohoe Marquees Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m

Willie Mullins looks set to dominate this Grade 2 with the top three in the betting, but it may be the likely lesser fancied of the trio, Western Diego, who can spring a surprise. The seven-year-old continues to pull hard in his races but it was notable how much he improved from a disappointing first effort over hurdles at Cork when winning around this course and distance in January. He was comfortably too good for Shoot The Blues on that occasion, which puts him right in line with stablemate Tounsivator, and it may not have been a straightforward decision for Paul Townend.

Mark Walsh takes the ride on J.P. McManus’ Mirazur West, who has always had a big reputation but is another who needs to settle better, at the very least. He disappointed behind Fun Fun Fun at Naas and has a little to prove now.

SELECTION: WESTERN DIEGO

Next best: Tounsivator

4.20 BoyleSports, Proud Sponsors Since 2014 Novice Handicap Chase (Listed) 2m

Hurricane Cliff could be hard to beat. He really got it together over fences at Limerick earlier this month when coming 13 lengths away from The Gradual Slope, who has since run well in a useful event at Navan. Henry de Bromhead’s geldiSng is only having his fifth start over fences so he has plenty of scope to improve again.

Skippin Court is another lightly-raced type that could improve to get involved. Peter Fahey’s seven-year-old comes here off a couple of good efforts, finishing third to The King Of Prs at Wexford and fourth to The Folkes Tiara at Leopardstown on St Stephen’s Day. Figaroc is another one to consider after a good effort to finish third to Whiskeywealth in similar conditions at Gowran.

SELECTION: HURRICANE CLIFF

Next best: Skippin Court

5.30 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper 2m

Butchers Bill, a full-brother to Champion Bumper runner-up Romeo Coolio, could be the one to be on here for Josh Williamson and Gordon Elliott. The son of Kayf Tara cost all of €265,000 at the Derby Sale and clearly has plenty of potential.

Willie Mullins runs three and it’s clearly noteworthy that Patrick Mullins rides Kopek Des Bourdes. The son of No Risk At All is related to five different blacktype performers and his stable has taken this contest twice in the last three years.

SELECTION: BUTCHERS BILL

Next best: Kopek Des Bourdes
