ARE you interested in working in Equine-Assisted Services (EAS)? On March 10th, in collaboration with Horse Sport Ireland, the inaugural symposium, The Evolving Role Of Horses For Human Health, will take place at Clonshire Equestrian Centre, Co Limerick.

This first-of-a-kind all-Ireland symposium will feature a number of interactive demonstrations with equine-assisted practitioners from across the island of Ireland. A selection of speakers will also present on some of the equine-assisted training and opportunities currently available. The one-day event promises to be inspiring for both EAS professionals, service users, future students and also for the wider equestrian sector, allowing for friendly networking and exchange.

Showcase your service

The committee would like to invite workshop ideas from as many EAS practitioners and training organisations as possible for the information and discussion section of the symposium. We encourage you to showcase your service.

The purpose of the day is to allow a wider audience to learn about the different types of services that are available to them, and to invite discussion around the key issues for this expanding sector. To facilitate this, the day has been sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland and kindly hosted by Clonshire Equestrian Centre.

The practical workshops in the morning will be supported by discussions and breakout sessions in the afternoon. Workshops should be between 20-30 minutes and should be pitched to make it accessible for an audience that is new to the subject, as well as existing practitioners. All workshops should include reference to the equine welfare standards required within your service. Those wishing to submit a workshop should send a brief outline (max 200 words) to groundworkeal@gmail.com before 11am on February 10th, 2025. We will endeavour to notify successful workshops by 11am on February 12th.

Tickets for the symposium are €20 and you can scan the link below to purchase.
