Health and Safety Authority data has shown there have been 10 farm fatalities involving ATVs in the last decade.

New regulations surrounding mandatory ATV training and compulsory wearing of a helmet for all users came into effect in 2023. All farmers and any staff members within a workplace who operate a quad bike or ATV must now have undergone certified training and must now wear a helmet when riding a quad.
