WITH the Sunshine Tour right around the corner, long journeys in a truck are also on the horizon. This can lead to stiffness and discomfort for both horses and their teams alike. Often we have plans in place for the horses but not for ourselves. With that in mind, here are three stretches that can help alleviate tension and loosen up muscles after a prolonged truck journey:
Cat-Camel Stretch
Hip Flexor Stretch
Standing Forward Bend
Remember to perform these stretches slowly and gently, breathing deeply and never forcing your body into uncomfortable positions. It’s also a good idea to walk around and perform some light exercises to improve circulation before stretching. If you have any existing medical conditions or concerns, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or a fitness expert before trying new stretches.
