IRELAND was well represented at the pony, children on horses and under 25 show at Lichtenvoorde, The Netherlands, with numerous ribbons being awarded to Irish combinations.

On Thursday afternoon, Elizabeth McMahon and Aimee Moloney made a great start when they took first and second places with Lurgan Sallyann and Venice Optima respectively in their 1.15m Two-Phase Special pony class.

That evening, in the Under 25 1.40m class, Conan Wright came fifth with JSH Ice Man, with Shane Dwan in eighth riding KM Chalcedon.

Friday saw Claudia Carroll and Attyrory Warrior place second, with Alanna Fagan and Glor Tire Cruise in eighth in their 1.25m Two-Phase Special pony class. Robbie Sheehan and Fubalia placed eighth in their 1.20m Children on Horses class.

Saturday saw a re-run for Elizabeth McMahon and Aimee Moloney, as they once again claimed the top two places in their 1.15m Two-Phase Special pony class.

Kian Dore rode HHS Mustang Sally into second place in their 1.25m pony class, followed by Olivia Nell and Clinton Class in fifth. Meanwhile, Shane Dwan and KM Chalcedon placed fourth and Conan Wright on JSH Ice Man were sixth in their Under 25 1.45m Grand Prix.

Dore continued his success on Sunday morning, when he won the 1.15m pony class with HHS Mustang Sally. In fact, the Irish dominated this class, taking six of the top 10 places! Elizabeth McMahon came second with Lurgan Sallyann; Ted Fagan and Hachtag Kerbotin were fifth; Olivia Nell and Bungi were sixth; Emma Barrett and Romaround were eighth and Ciara O’Connor and Hannah’s Only Dun came 10th.

In the Children’s Grand Prix, Robbie Sheehan on Fubalia placed fifth, with Ted Fagan on Con Sol in sixth.

The grand finale of the show was the 1.30m Ponies Grand Prix, which was won for Ireland by Claudia Carroll on Attyrory Warrior, who rode an incredible jump-off round in a very fast time of 28.22 seconds, while Leon Van Cauwenberge placed sixth with Carnone Katie.
