A FANTASTIC week for the Irish in Sevilla, Spain was topped when Mikey Pender dominated the two-star Grand Prix in first and second place, while Susan Fitzpatrick slotted into third on the podium.

Fifteen combinations made it through to the 1.45m jump-off and Kildare’s Pender was unbeatable with his two mounts – the eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse HHS Burnchurch (Fortunus x Cavalier Royale) in top spot with the winning round of 37.53, and Casanova van Overis Z in second, a fraction slower in 37.59 seconds. Pender won just over €12,000.
