CONAN Wright got off to a good start in the 1.40m Derby Tour class at CSI Eindhoven in The Netherlands last Thursday, when he rode JSH Ice Man into runner-up spot behind Dutch winner, Siebe Leemans on Karamella. Just five of the 21 starters jumped clear and Leeman left nothing to chance, with the winning time of 65.88 seconds being almost five seconds faster than Wright (70.58).
Wright and the 11-year-old grey stallion followed this up with a third place in the CSI3* 1.50m Derby on Saturday. The pair were fourth last of the 20 starters and rode a fast round to finish in 156.58 seconds, but eight faults initially put them into second place behind Dutch rider Jur Vrieling on Knock Out van de Kalevallei (four faults, 163.31). Last in was another Dutch rider, Wout-Jan van der Schans on For The Moment and they jumped the winning round, keeping all the fences standing in a time of 154.11 seconds.
These are the latest in a series of good results from Wright and JSH Ice Man.
