DOWN international show jumper, and World No 4 in the FEI rankings, Conor Swail enjoyed a good outing at Aachen, taking a win and top placings at the German showpiece.

Swail was in the winnings at Aachen as he claimed the honours in the two-phase class when he partnered the nine-year-old stallion Nadal Hero & DB to a clear in 35.51, taking home €6,500 for his efforts.

Last Thursday the combination took seventh place in the Table A class when they came home with nothing to add in a time of 69.86 seconds.

Riding Count Me In, Swail was also third in the Aachen Chio Prix Europe competition.

Meanwhile, Offaly’s Darragh Kenny claimed fourth place in the two phase when he partnered the KWPN stallion Rockstar to a clear in 27.30 last Friday.

The CSI5* Pan American competition kicked off last Friday with Limerick’s Paul O’Shea partnering Squirt Gun to a runner-up finish in Thursday’s 1.55 speed class at Spruce Meadows.

In total, 26 combinations took on the Peter Grant-designed course and it was Eduardo Menezes and his 10-year-old stallion H Big Action who emerged victorious when they delivered the winning round in 67.88 seconds.

O’Shea was only fractions of a second behind, clocking 68.06 secs. Third place belonged to Mario Deslauriers and Bardolina 2 after they delivered a clear in 70.10.

More was to come from O’Shea who also took fourth place in the Friend of the Meadows 1.45m with Sexy Beast, clear in 36.13.
