ANOTHER week, another international win for Galway show jumper Jessica Burke who raced to victory in Saturday’s 1.45m Table A at Arezzo in Italy.

Riding the winning machine Inpulss, a 10-year-old mare by Dallas VDL owned by Louisa Church, she was the fastest of 26 clears from 100 starters in the class. The pair set the winning time of 59.46 seconds to earn €6,550, just seeing off the challenge from Italy’s Grancesca Ciriesi with Chacco’s Boy (0/ 59.49).

The Irish Sport Horse Castleforbes Darcy (Dollar du Murier x Carthago Z), bred by Lady Georgina Forbes, finished seventh under Frenchman Nicolas Bost.

Burke finished fourth in Sunday’s 1.45m jump-off class with Liam Nicholas’ 10-year-old mare Nikey HH. The pair were one of four clear against the clock. Victory went to Italy’s Alberto Zorzi with Stakalite.

Also winning at the venue was 20-year-old Ella Clancy. Riding the nine-year ISH gelding Corraghoe Steel, she headed Friday’s three-star 1.35m Table A when best of 44 clear rounds in a time of 53.45 seconds.

Sixteen-year-old Eoin Brennan has been in brilliant form on the Irish Grand Prix circuit and continued that in Italy when winning Thursday’s 1.40m two-phase class with Eskola M. Jenny Rankin slotted into fifth in Saturday’s 1.40m two-phase with Barry’s Connor’s eight-year-old mare Kainville VDS when double clear.
