CO DOWN’s world number four-ranked Conor Swail continued his excellent run of international form when winning a three-star class at Tryon, North Carolina last weekend.

He won Wednesday’s $37,000 two-phase 1.45m when he guided Theo 160 to the best of 10 double clears in 27.58 and took home $12,210 for his efforts. Also in this line-up was Richie Moloney who answered all the questions with Coco Beach in a time of 29.05.

“I’ve had him for around a year. He’s a great horse; he wins a lot for me in the 1.45ms and 1.50ms,” said Swail. “He’s had a nice break for the last six or eight weeks, so it’s nice to have him back and it was a great win today.”

On Thursday, Swail took two placings in the $37,000 1.50m Welcome Stakes. He delivered his best result with Vital Chance De La Roque, taking third place when clear in 31.65, less than a second off the winner Sharn Wordley (NZL) and Valentine Car, who clocked 31.19.

Swail also took fifth place with Calciet EB Z when he delivered another clear, albeit in a slower time of 32.34.

On Saturday, Swail finished seventh in the three-star $139,000 Grand Prix when he had one down in the first round of the 1.50m track with Vital Chance De La Roque in a time of 76.44.

Taking the win was Chile’s Samuel Parot and Captain Z when they delivered the winning round in 39.55 seconds. Cinching second prize was Canada’s Sean Jobin and Darius with a time of 43.56 seconds, ahead of Audrey Muscari (USA) and her own Cicero HS who crossed the line in 42.36.
