Two-star win for Conor Drain

CONOR Drain won a 1.45m two-class Table A in Exloo, The Netherlands, last Friday. He guided the 11-year-old gelding Dialetto to the best of 17 clear rounds in 53.90 seconds to earn €1,000, ahead of German runner-up Rene Dittmer with Burlington Riverland (0/ 54.63). Drain was fourth in Sunday’s 1.45m Grand Prix at the venue aboard the nine-year-old grey gelding Imagine. The pair were one of six to make it through to the jump-off, where they faulted once to earn €2,500. Victory went to Dutchman Michael Greeve with Eurohill’s Fyolieta (0/0 32.87).

Lynch third in two-star Grand Prix

TIPPERARY’s Denis Lynch finished third in the 1.45m two-star Grand Prix in Sentower Park, Belgium last Sunday. From 64 starters, 20 made it through to the jump-off, where 14 were double clear. Lynch guided his five-star winning mount GC Chopin’s Bushi to a clear in 36.79 to pick up €3,825 in prize money. Germany’s Christian Ahlmann won aboard Solid Gold Z in 36.40 seconds, ahead of Brazil’s Marlon Zanotelli with Luigi d’Eclipse (0/0 36.44).

Irish placed in Californian Grand Prix

CONOR Swail and Nicky Galligan were placed in the three-star 1.55m Grand Prix at Thermal, California, last Sunday. Both riders made it through to the seven horse jump-off. Swail picked up four faults with Vital Chance de la Roque to finish fifth, while Galligan and the Irish Sport Horse mare Javas Miss Jordan were seventh with eight faults. Victory went to USA’s Keri Potter and Quitana 11.
