La Petite Coco, who gave trainer Paddy Twomey his first Group 1 winner when landing the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh in June, is yet another Group 1 winning filly in training to be confirmed for the forthcoming Tattersalls December Mares Sale, taking place from November 28th- December 1st. The four year old daughter of Derby winner Ruler Of The World promises to be amongst the highlights of a stellar lineup in the new Sceptre Session on Tuesday 29th November.

Owned by Team Valor, La Petite Coco has won five of her 10 lifetime starts including the Group 2 Blandford Stakes and the Group 3 Give Thanks Stakes in addition to her Group 1 triumph over 10 furlongs in the Pretty Polly Stakes. La Petite Coco was also a gallant third behind five time Group 1 winner and current Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe second favourite Alpinista in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks, and is currently the highest rated four year old filly in Ireland with an official rating of 115.

Now in their 35th year, ownership group Team Valor's wholly commercial policy has resulted in sales of numerous top class performers and influential broodmares.

Bred in Ireland by Bernd and Ute Schone, La Petite Coco is from the third crop of English Derby winner Ruler Of The World out of the unraced Königstiger mare La Petite Virginia, a half sister to outstanding German Derby winner Lavirco as well as German Group 2 and Group 3 winners Laveron and Lyonels Glory. La Petite Coco’s great grandam La Dorada, is the highest rated German two year old filly of her generation and was also a multiple stakes producer and is the granddam of multiple Group 1 winning German Champion and influential sire Lomitas.

La Petite Coco defeating dual Classic winner Love in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes

LA PETITE COCO will be consigned from Paddy Twomey’s Athassel House Stables and Twomey commented;

“La Petite Coco will always be special to me and the team at Athassel House as our first Group 1 winner. She is a hugely talented filly and has beaten some very smart fillies in the course of her career, not least dual Classic winner Love, when she won the Group 2 Blandford Stakes last year. She has all the qualities you want in a race filly and a broodmare. She is a good looking filly with a wonderful temperament and a huge pedigree, and she tries her heart out every time she runs.”

Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony added;

“The Team Valor owned La Petite Coco is another wonderful Group 1 winning filly coming to this year’s Tattersalls December Sale. Similar to Alcohol Free and Saffron Beach, she combines outstanding ability with looks and pedigree and she will be another highlight of our new Sceptre Sessions which are already shaping up to be a bit special.”
