Bringbackmemories can resume winning ways, having clearly failed to give his true running when sent off favourite last time. The John McConnell-trained gelding was expected to play a leading role in a listed hurdle at Musselburgh, having won his previous outing at that same track a month before. If back to his best, the Iffraaj gelding looks well treated by these conditions, especially with Ben Harvey taking off 5lb.

Surac, trained locally by Richard O’Brien, is only rated 2lb below the McConnell horse but looks more exposed at this stage. A winner at Ballinrobe earlier in the season, he has failed to add to that in five subsequent starts.

Harmonya Maker got no further than the second hurdle when sent off favourite at Punchestown recently but a clear round should see her hard to beat. An easy winner at Fairyhouse prior to that, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare looks one of the more promising types in this division. Having shown plenty of ability in blacktype company in bumpers last season, she remains open to improvement.

Hauturiere went on to win that aforementioned Punchestown contest and should again be a serious threat. Willie Mullins is strong in this division and the daughter of No Risk At All looks the yard’s first string here.

Holiday In Kerry, who shaped with plenty of encouragement when third at Clonmel recently, has almost certainly been laid out for this. A winner over course and distance last season, the seven-year-old lost his way somewhat after but showed that he retained plenty of ability when only getting caught late on at the Tipperary venue earlier this month.

Rochestown has to be of interest at a track where his stable has traditionally done very well. Lightly raced despite his age, the eight-year-old stayed on strongly to win at Punchestown last month.

Friends N Commerce looks to have every opportunity of shedding his maiden tag at the 12th attempt. Pat Kelly’s gelding has amassed plenty of experience in handicap company of late and was perhaps a bit unfortunate not to get his head in front last time. The seven-year-old travelled like the best horse in that Punchestown contest but seemed unsuited to the tight inner track. However, he came home strongly, only just failing to get up at the line.

Desert Heather, a three-time point-to-point winning mare, will appreciate the stamina test this race presents. The daughter of Cloudings has been placed in two of her three runs under rules and fell early in the third.

Clifton Warrior carries something of a health warning, having failed to complete in two of his last three starts but the de Bromhead runner has his sights lowered here. A 133-rated hurdler, the seven-year-old proved he still had the engine when easily winning over flights at Clonmel in November. Although pulled up at Punchestown after, that was a graded hurdle so he may just have found the company too demanding.

All Those Years wasn’t as good a hurdler as Clifton Warrior but has arguably achieved more of late. A mid-division finish in a hotly contested graded event at Leopardstown last time looks strong form in the context of this race.

Made In The Woods may finally get his turn, having had to play bridesmaid on his last four starts. The Norman Lee-trained gelding was unfortunate to bump into a well handicapped subsequent winner at Fairyhouse on his penultimate run and lost his chance with a slow jump at the last at Clonmel recently. Given his consistency of late, the six-year-old deserves to get his turn.

Happy Dreams should provide a serious threat provided he sees out this distance. A three-time winner over shorter, he has yet to tackle a trip in excess of three miles. However, given how well he saw out his race at Fairyhouse last month, there must be every chance his suspect stamina will hold out.

Special Cadeau can win his first race since joining the champion trainer. A debut winner at Huntingdon for Pam Sly last November, he was off the track for over a year before finishing third on stable debut at Leopardstown over Christmas. The promise of that run encouraged connections to step into graded company last time but something was clearly amiss on that occasion.

Lucky Lyreen had to battle hard to get up right on the line at Down Royal on his second start. While the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding looks vulnerable to a classier type, he has proven his heart for a fight.
