2.10 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares' Maiden Hurdle
Despite her fall last time out, Four Clean Aces looks on paper to have the strongest form in this. Those behind her in the betting have not shown anything to suggest they can match the level of form the Mullins contender has produced. She looks a worthy odds-on favourite. The value bet may lie with Silent Approach. She has shown good form and versatility on different types of ground.
Selection: Four Clean Aces
Next Best: Silent Approach
2.45 Connolly's Red Mills Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle
There is probably not an awful lot between the top six or seven in the market in this one. It would be a bit of a surprise if there was a very convincing winner here. Chautuaqua for Adrian Joyce (standing in for the suspended Denis Hogan) is favoured. She won her bumper quite convincingly. Every time she has run she has given a good account of herself. Ivy Hall is also an interesting contender, given the fact that she is now stepping down in trip.
Selection: Chautuaqua
Next Best: Ivy Hall
3.20 Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle
Samui looks like a very interesting contender here. Over the summer, he was unlucky to run into two potential future stars owned by J.P. McManus. There was a veterinary excuse given for his run in Ballinrobe last time out. With that in mind, you would have to think that Gordon Elliott would probably not run him here unless he was sure that he would give a good account of himself. The current price of 14/1 looks to be on the large side. Charlie Luciano has been a consistent performer and can also go close here, despite carrying top weight.
Selection: Samui
Next Best: Charlie Luciano
3.55 Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle
This one is very open but Golden Sandbanks could go close following some good performances lately. If he reproduces his Sligo performance, it might just be good enough here. The King of Prs’ run in Galway last time out was promising. He is also an interesting contender here.
Selection: Golden Sandbanks
Next Best: The King of Prs
4.30 Kevin's Bar, Listowel/Exchange Inn, Ballybunion Handicap Hurdle
El Champo is having his first run over two and a half miles here. Previous runs suggest that this could be the perfect distance for the five-year-old. Paddy O’Hanlon appears to get the best out of him. He's up 7lb in the handicap but he has the potential to overcome that rise. Spring Meadow is an interesting each-way prospect for the McNamaras.
Selection: El Champo
Next Best: Spring Meadow
5.05 John F. McGuire Handicap Hurdle
The penultimate race is another wide-open handicap. The favourite Anyway is quite short at the moment and hasn’t really shown enough to justify his price. Getaway Charlie is an interesting runner for the Doyles. He put in some fine performances in his three summer outings. The yard is in great form and he gets the nod here. Nazine might be an interesting each-way contender for Michael McDonagh.
Selection: Getaway Charlie
Next Best: Nazine
5.40 Eric Browne Memorial INH Flat Race
Tomavian showed potential when finishing second last time out in Down Royal. On that basis, he slightly edges the selection here over the well-bred debutant Luckinthecity.
Selection: Tomavian
Next Best: Luckinthecity
