THE vastly improved Darver Star, who has gone from a rating of 119 to 145 in the space of just two runs, brought up a hat-trick in the two-and-a-half-mile Ballygarry House Hotel Novice Hurdle to kick-off a double for Gavin Cromwell and recently appointed stable jockey Jonathan Moore.

In a race that only began to unfold in earnest nearing the turn in, Darver Star produced an assured display to dispose of Doctor Duffy by three lengths.
