12.30 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase 2m 3f

Jeremys Flame has put together three good efforts over fences this season and she can get off the mark by winning this opener. Gavin Cromwell’s mare found only the classy Concertista too good in a Grade 2 at Cork having earlier finished third against geldings at this course and prior to that, ran well behind the Grade 1-placed Riviere D’Etel at Fairyhouse. The step up in trip should suit her well as she was closing right in on Concertista over two miles at Cork.

Dolcita was fifth in that race but she has the scope to improve from that given it was her first run back for Willie Mullins, her first chase and her first start of the season. She was previously a good novice hurdler, finishing second to Concertista in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Roseys Hollow is another to consider after her respectable start over fences, finishing fifth against the geldings over this course and distance last month.

Lifetime Ambition was a non-runner in the Grade 1 Faugheen Novices’ Chase on St Stephen’s Day and it’s interesting that he comes down in trip, with his trainer perhaps keen to utilise his jumping over the minimum distance. He was excellent on his debut when he beat Vanillier and Drinmore winner Beacon Edge, and he is excused his own effort in the Drinmore (fourth) on account of the fast ground conditions. Two miles over heavy ground could be perfect for him now.

Blue Lord finished second to Bob Olinger in the feature race on this card last season and hit the frame in two more Grade 1 races - and looked booked for second in the Supreme but for falling at the last. His chase debut win at Fairyhouse delivered plenty of promise that he can be as good if not better over fences.

Dancing On My Own is also an interesting runner as there was plenty to like about his defeat of the very useful Buddy Rich on his comeback run earlier this season at Killarney. That was Henry de Bromhead’s gelding’s first start in 687 days, he has been given plenty of time again to recover and should feel the benefits today.

1.35 Eastcoast Seafood & Gouldings Hardware Handicap Chase 2m

Arahecan had five lengths to spare over Fighting Fifth at Fairyhouse last time, but there are lots of reasons to support the latter in his bid to reverse that form. Philip Dempsey’s charge was having his first run in a handicap chase and just the fourth chase start of his career in that contest, and there was a lot to like about the way he came through late on, having been held up earlier. He has a 5lb swing at the weights with Henry de Bromhead’s runner and his mark of 111 is still 5lbs below his hurdles rating so there is lots to like about his profile.

Arahecan is respected after that good win at Fairyhouse where he was a comfortable winner in truth. Gevrey is also worth noting on his handicap chase debut for Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell. He has got some useful novice hurdle form and should find this easier than the three novice/beginners’ chases he has contested last season.

2.45 I.N.H Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle 1m 7f 180yds

This isn’t the strongest maiden hurdle for this time of year and Bronn could well be up to winning on his hurdles debut. He beat recent Leopardstown winner Howyabud in a Ballinrobe bumper last April and has since changed hands from Steven Crawford to Simon Munir and Isaac Souede. The Willie Mullins yard is really hitting top form and this son of Notnowcato could emerge as another exciting prospect in a race his trainer took with Asterion Forlonge two seasons ago.

Flame Bearer finished fifth on his hurdles debut and was ultimately well held by Dysart Dynamo, but he could well improve now for Pat Doyle. He won two bumpers last season. Killer Mode won his bumper at this track last month and also deserves respect on his hurdles bow.

SELECTION: BRONN

Next best: Flame Bearer

3.20 Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle 2m 3f

This is a difficult contest to decipher and only a tentative vote goes to I Don’t Get It. Neill McCluskey’s eight-year-old has had plenty of tries over hurdles but arguably ran his best race yet last time out in the maiden hurdle O’Toole won at Down Royal on St Stephen’s Day. He comes back into a handicap hurdle now off a mark of 88 and if he can pick up again - his Down Royal run was coming off a break - he could get involved.

Paddys Planet makes some appeal also. He ran nicely on his hurdles debut at Galway when fifth to Chinx Of Light and then won at Limerick. With just four runs in his life, he has plenty of scope to improve further and starts handicaps here off a mark off a workable mark of 106.

Never Off Duty is another worth mentioning. He won his maiden hurdle over this course and distance in 2017 but has only seen the track seven times since. He is clearly fragile but a mark of 105, with Shane Fitzgerald taking 2lbs off, makes him interesting.

Noel Meade has won this four-year-olds bumper twice in the last five renewals and he may be able to make it three in six with Fuoco. She is a half sister to stablemate Crassus, who is a useful sort, and Indian Chief, who finished third in a Dante. The booking of Neil Ryan, claiming 7lbs, is also a positive in a race of this nature.

Douglas Dc is an interesting newcomer for Gordon Elliott and owner David Spratt. A son of Zoffany, out of a relatively speedy mare, he could possess a few gears his rivals may not have. Ciaran Murphy’s Design Flow also has the distinct advantage of some experience, for all that she only ran okay when contesting a three-year-old bumper at Newbury last month.

SELECTION: FUOCO
