STRONG levels of interest have been reported ahead of The Irish Field and IFA Bord Gáis ‘Maximising Energy Grants for the Equine Sector’ information evening on Monday, August 26th.
The event, which takes place at 7pm in The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Co Laois, is not to be missed and will feature expert advice on solar panels, finance and potential savings, as well as details on available grants.
The equine sector’s engagement with renewable sources of energy has continued to grow in recent times, with almost 95% of horse owners who participated in a recent online survey carried out by The Irish Field saying they are either planning to install solar panels on their equine premises or are open to the idea.
Trainer Kieran Cotter has been among those to see the benefit of switching to renewable energy of late.
Since installing solar panels on a handful of his stables in Portarlington, Co Laois, just four months ago, he says he has reduced his electricity bills by over 90%.
Admission to the event is free, but pre-registration is essential.
This can be done online or, alternatively, those wishing to speak to a representative over the phone can contact The Irish Field’s Paul Callaghan on 083-422 0799.
