IHB elections outcome

CHAIRMAN of the Irish Horse Board, Tiernan Gill, this week announced the results of the recent Irish Horse Board elections.

Region 1 result outcome:

  • Comdt Geoff Curran (newly elected)
  • Region 2 Marguerite Ryan (newly elected)
  • Region 3 Pat McCarthy (reelected)
  • Region 4 Liam Lynskey (reelected)
  • Region 5 Neil Henry (reelected) and
  • Comdt Gerry Flynn (newly elected)
  • “We would like to acknowledge and thank Barbara Hatton, Edward Doyle and John A. Cogan (RIP) for their involvement and dedication over the last number of years. Their contribution has been invaluable to the equestrian industry. We welcome the new members and look forward to working progressively together for the betterment of the industry,” said Tiernan Gill.

    IEVA event

    THE inaugural Irish Equine Veterinary Association (IEVA) will launch on Thursday, November 10th November with an ultrasonography wetlab, kindly hosted by Jerry O’Sullivan at Clinic na gCapall, Co. Carlow. The two-day Congress begins on Friday, November 11th at The Lyrath Estate, Co Kilkenny.

    Equine experts will discuss a range of subjects including Reproduction, Radiography, NVPS, Mental health while an update on the National Veterinary Prescription System will be provided by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

    Nations Cup outing

    IRISH Show Jumping team manager Michael Blake named his four team members for yesterday’s three-star Nations Cup at Vejer De La Frontera in Spain.

    Tipperary’s Max Wachman with Quintini – owned by Coolmore Showjumping
