Mill Stream mares in foal
YEOMANSTOWN Stud reports that new recruit Mill Stream has had his first eight mares scanned in foal. Among the mares in foal to the Group 1 July Cup winner are are Laila Jamil, dam of Group 2 July Stakes winner Birchwood, and Group 3 winner Barefoot Angel.
Gay O’Callaghan said: “Mill Stream has been very well received and supported by breeders, who are impressed with his exceptional good looks and attitude.
“He has shown great enthusiasm for his new role and I’m sure he’ll be a great success.”

Fairytale start for Aesop’s Fables at Starfield Stud
NEW stallion Aesop’s Fables, who stands at Starfield Stud in Co Westmeath, has had his first mares scanned in foal. They include Oh So Silky (from family of Dutch Mastrpiece), Pittoresco (from the family of Mountain Bear) and Limoncello Lady (sister to group race horses Nigiri and Encrypted).
Micheál Orlandi reported: “He is proving popular with breeders in both Ireland and Britain. We are thrilled with the support and momentum he is building. His book looks exceptional for a stallion at his price point. We must thank the breeders who have pledged their support and are backing their judgement with Aesop’s Fables.”
Gerry McGrath wins
Breeder award for Jetara
GERRY McGrath has won the Connolly’s Red Mills The Irish Field Breeder of the Month competition for January. He bred Jetara, winner of the Grade 2 Yorkshire Rose Mares’ Hurdle at Doncaster.
