Could you take a rescued horse?
THE Irish Horse Welfare Trust [IHWT] in Co Wicklow is at full capacity heading into December and is appealing to anyone who can offer a home to a rescued horse or pony to get in touch.
Sharon Newsome of the IHWT said: “We have close to 70 equines on site, including a lot of young cobs, small ponies and some young thoroughbreds all looking for a new home. All of these have come to us from situations of serious neglect and have now been fully rehabilitated.”
The rehoming process involves an application form which can be found on the IHWT website or can be requested by email. Home checks are carried out by one of the IHWT’s 30 trained national volunteers.

He is expected to go down the same route this year, starting at Newcastle, then on to Kempton at Christmas, Cheltenham and Aintree.
“Constitution Hill is fine. He’s asleep in his box. He’s all set for Newcastle,” said Henderson this week.
