MICHAEL Murphy was the flagbearer for Team Ireland at last Sunday’s Paralympic Games closing ceremony at the Stade de France in Paris, France. The honour was bestowed on Murphy and five-time swimming Paralympian Ellen Keane who announced her retirement at the Games. Murphy was competing at his second Paralympic Games, having made his debut in Tokyo three years ago. Riding Cleverboy, he finished ninth in the first team test and led the team to a 10th place finish last Friday.
