TIGGY’S Trust, set up to honour the legacy of the late Tiggy Hancock, have announced their Rider Development Programme which, after a series of educational sessions, will culminate in a ground-breaking trip to the Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair in Scotland from August 24th to 28th.

Tiggy, an ultra-talented 15-year-old event rider who sadly lost her life while training almost 12 months ago, is remembered for her unparalleled enthusiasm, positivity and cheerfulness, and for her extraordinary generosity and kindness.

Travelling to compete abroad meant so much to Tiggy and enhanced her competitive career.

The Trust is offering this opportunity to under-16 riders who have never travelled abroad, so that they and their ponies may experience and learn from international competition.

The Trust will organise and fund the programme. Leading equestrian coaches will provide training for eventing and mounted games. In addition, there will be educational modules for personal development, first aid, horse welfare and team-building. The riders will also receive help and advice on preparing themselves and their ponies for international travel.

The Trustees’ intentions are that Tiggy’s own inspirational qualities will be hallmarks of this trip, and that the riders taking part will forge lasting memories and friendships.
