THE Showjumpers Club wasted no time preparing for the 2022 season with the announcement that their popular Spring Tour will commence on January 23rd with the backing of sponsorship from TRM Ireland.

The opening round will take place at Portmore Equestrian with a further 18 rounds taking place around the country before the grand final at CoilÓg Equestrian on April 17th.

Due to Covid-19, The Showjumpers Club intends to continue the live streaming of each round which has greatly enhanced the exposure of the Irish circuit to an international audience while helping to ensure a safe environment for all.

This tour has proved popular with a host of riders over the years, as it acts as a stepping stone for young horses, young riders and pro am riders.

Last year, two young riders, Katie McEntee and Robyn Moran, battled it out to a nail-biting finish where McEntee took the title and Moran the runner-up place. Both were rewarded for their efforts as they became a TRM brand ambassadors.

Managing Director of TRM, Raoul Masterson, said: “TRM is delighted to be sponsoring the 2022 Spring Tour in association with The Showjumpers Club. This series is vital for the development of both horses and riders for the year ahead. The TRM Spring Tour has evolved into a very competitive series which was hard won by Emma McEntee in 2021.

“Emma, as leading young rider of the series, also joined the TRM roster of ambassadors and it has been a pleasure working with her. The owners and venues around the country, put a lot into the sport of show jumping and TRM appreciate this and the business the sport brings to both TRM and our sister company TRI.

“Working alongside The Showjumpers Club, we will be announcing further incentives for this series to raise the profile and the prize fund even further, prizes will be awarded to riders, grooms and working producers, with more exciting updates to follow in the new year.”

Chairman of The Showjumpers Club, Ronan Corrigan, said: “We look forward to the start of the 2022 TRM/SJC Spring Tour and thanks TRM and Raoul and Larry Masterson for their continued support. This is the third year of support from TRM who have again increased their level of sponsorship for this year.

“The Spring Tour has established itself as a mainstay of the national show jumping calendar and as the production ground for so many of Ireland’s top riders and horses. We recognise the tremendous input from all the venues who each year come on board to host each round of the TRM Spring Tour.

“Our owners, riders and breeders are also due recognition for their continued participation and we hope that once again they will enjoy the TRM Spring Tour. We also acknowledge the support of SJI and the success of SJI live which has greatly improved the management of the sport and of every show.”
