NEVER Again (12-1) caught Slowmotion in the shadows of the post to initiate a Limerick treble for trainer John Joe Walsh in the Limerick Racecourse Vets Hurdle.

Slowmotion jumped with aplomb on her first start since joining Aidan O'Brien from France and quickened clear approaching two out.

Never Again went in pursuit only to make a mistake at that obstacle, but got back on an even keel and caught the market leader close home to prevail by half a length.

Walsh said: "She settled today and the heavier ground helped her settle more. She was second in Thurles twice but didn't settle either day.

"She is ground-dependent and all those Jeremys want heavy ground. She might run next in a four-year-old race at Fairyhouse."

Walsh followed up when Instant Smile won the Ryans Cleaning Maiden Hurdle as the outsider of three.

Odds-on favourite, Ben Button appeared to have matters sewn up until Instant Smile flew late to get up by half a length under Ambrose McCurtin, who had earlier won the Grade 3 mares' novice hurdle on Barnahash Rose.

The Walsh three-timer was completed when Monasteradenpauric (5-2 favourite) caught Seskinane after the last in The Irish Field Handicap Hurdle, and held that rallying rival by half a length.

Commenting on his hat-trick of wins, Walsh said:: "I had a treble years ago and that's just my second one although we've had four doubles already this season."

Veteran Thelobstercatcher (12-1) proved that plenty of enthusiasm remains by landing the Lyons Of Limerick Handicap Chase, with Wildcatted winning the Charleville Cheese Beginners Chase by a wide margin.
