The 11-year-old thoroughbred Arvika Ligeonniere made his debut in a new discipline this week when he participated in the Irish Horse Welfare Trust Thoroughbred Club class at Wexford, which is being run as part of the 2016 Stepping Stones to Success League for young event horses.

The attractive bay cut a real dash in his new role as rider Louise Duffy put him through his dressage paces in what was looked a relaxed and fluid test from the former top racehorse.

When trained by Willie Mullins, the French-bred gelding won four Grade 1 races before being retired in April 2014 after sustaining a leg injury when winning at Fairyhouse.
