One man and his dog - Micky raises funds for charities

FORMER flat jockey Micky Duffy will be a special guest at Cork Racecourse on Sunday week, November 6th.

Based in Fethard, Duffy set himself a challenge of walking all 26 racecourses to raise funds for Hurling for Cancer and Irish Injured Jockeys. He will complete the full set at Cork next weekend.

“I’d like to thank Jim Bolger, Una and Kevin Manning for their help in organising the fundraiser,” he said. “I must also mention all the Duffys in my hometown of Ballinamona, Glanworth, Co Cork.”

Micky is planning a small celebration with friends once he completes his mission but there’s no time for rest as he is selling a Magna Grecia yearling at Goffs next week.

Advice

He is also looking forward to giving advice to some apprentice jockeys living locally during the winter.

Joining Duffy on the countrywide adventure has been his faithful dog, Jack, who surely deserves a special treat as well.
