DOES the idea of artificial intelligence fill you with fear? Rather than imagining robots taking over the world, it could provide a helpful tool next time you’re struggling to name your racehorse.
That’s if you’re registering your horse in the US, where The Jockey Club have introduced Naming AI, a new tool designed to assist customers with naming their horses.
It generates five or 10 name options with a choice of one-, two-, or three-word names. Customers can use the tool to generate names based on words of their choosing or based on a foal’s pedigree.
“We’re very excited to launch this new naming feature,” said Andrew Chesser, director of Registration Services and director of Business Development for The Jockey Club.
“Offering a naming tool that can be used to generate names from the horse’s pedigree or based on user input will help owners find creative names to submit for their horses.”
Developed by TJC Innovations, Naming AI uses Open AI, which focuses on natural language processing and generation, and Pinecone, a database service that enables efficient similarity search and indexing of vector data, which is essential for natural language processing.
