THANKS to all of you who entered our Christmas Quiz (p36, December 24th edition). We tried to catch you out with sone sneaky questions but a few of you were just too clever.

There were a lot of fallers at question 19 – name the Shadwell Group 1 winner by Sea The Stars out of Aghareed ridden by Jim Crowley on all three starts. It wasn’t Baaeed (ran five times), it was his big brother Hukum.

A number of people answered Shane Crosse for picture question number 33 but we wanted the name of his Group 1 winner, State Of Rest. Naming Aidan O’Brien’s five Group 1-winning two-year-olds also tripped up a few entrants.

We had six all-correct entries and we’ve dug out a prize for all six of them. First name out of the hat was Mary Galvin from Celbridge, Co Kildare, and she wins a branded jacket and backpack from The Irish Field’s online store. Second price of a one-year subscription to Irish Country Magazine goes to Sarah O’Sullivan from Co Limerick, and there are branded backpacks for Liam Elvidge (Kilkenny), Matthew Bird (Tullow), Michael Walsh (Cahir) and Shane Power (Naas).
