THE Newbridge Parishes Community Raceday will return to the Curragh on Monday week, May 5th, a public holiday.

Almost €600,000 has been raised since the Newbridge Parishes Community Raceday was launched 36 years ago, with funds distributed directly to community-based projects in St Conleth’s and Church of Ireland Parishes.

There will be a variety of free family entertainment throughout the afternoon in the Moyglare Kids Zone.

This year’s raceday will celebrate local sporting heroes and will feature exhibition games by children from various local sports clubs in between races.

Performances from local dance groups will take place on stage in the Champions Hall.

The Group 2 Coolmore Stud Mooresbridge Stakes is the feature race of an eight-race card which starts at 1.15pm.

Raffle tickets will be on sale during racing. Prizes include dinner, bed and breakfast from Barberstown Castle, a €500 voucher from Newbridge Travel, and a €400 One4All voucher.
