THANKS to all who attempted the Christmas Crossword in our latest edition.

It wasn’t easy to solve, especially as we omitted the clue for 27 across. The missing clue was ‘Found her place by winning the Norfolk, the Lowther, the Nell Gwyn and the Falmouth’ and the answer was Niche. We took that error into account when picking the winners. The completed grid can be found attached to the online version of this story.

First prize of a Curragh membership for 2025 goes to Ann Ryan in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. Noel Malone-Leigh (Co Kildare) wins a Punchestown annual badge for this year and there is a Naas Racecourse membership on its way to Richard Finnegan in Dunmore East, Co Waterford.

We’re sending a branded gilet to Cathal Ryan in Oylegate, Co Wexford and there are consolation prizes of racing calendars for Jim Corcoran (Summerhill, Co Meath), Adrian Purcell (Thurles, Co Tipperary), Declan McCormack (Naas), Paul Glacken (Fairview, Dublin) and Vincent Cahill (Kilworth, Co Cork).

Thanks to Naas, Punchestown and the Curragh raceourses for the main prizes.

Naas Racecourse also sponsored a separate competition in the Christmas edition of The Irish Field which offered a pair of ‘golden tickets’ for tomorrow’s Grade 1 Lawlor’s of Naas Novice Hurdle raceday to two winners.

The correct answer was Readin Tommy Wrong and the two lucky winners are Philip Cunningham from Templemore, Co Tipperary and Ray Minion in Keatingstown, Co Kilkenny.
